Terms of Service

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of AfriTask AI (the “Platform”), operated by AfriTask AI Ltd. (“we”, “us”). By opening the Platform, creating an anonymous account, or entering any task round, you agree to these Terms in full. If you do not agree, discontinue use immediately.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least eighteen (18) years old and legally capable of entering binding agreements under Nigerian law. AfriTask AI is designed primarily for residents of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Users outside Nigeria may use the Platform where local laws permit, but withdrawal support is currently limited to Nigerian bank accounts processed via Paystack.

You represent and warrant that you have not previously had an account terminated for cause, that you are not the subject of financial sanctions, and that you will not use the Platform on behalf of any third party without our prior written consent.

3. Platform description

AfriTask AI is a skill-based micro-task platform where users compete for a limited number of paid slots per task round. Tasks include text classification, image labelling, translation, audio transcription, prompt rating, and other AI-training data collection activities delivered in Nigerian languages (Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Pidgin) and English.

For each task round, a fixed number of applicants are selected by our proprietary algorithm. Selected users complete the work in a time-boxed workspace; approved submissions earn a Naira payout to the user’s Earnings Wallet.

4. Work Points

Work Points are digital credits used to enter task rounds. They are:

  • Non-refundable: Work Points purchased via Paystack cannot be converted back to Naira.
  • Non-transferable: Points cannot be traded, gifted, or sold to other users.
  • Not a security or investment: Work Points do not represent equity, savings, or any claim on our assets.
  • Consumable on entry: Points are debited when you enter a round. If you are not selected, the entry cost is forfeited (subject to overflow refunds described in section 5).

Bonus tiers apply at ₦1,000 (100 pts), ₦5,000 (550 pts), ₦10,000 (1,200 pts), and ₦25,000 (3,250 pts). Amounts in between use the nearest lower tier’s rate.

5. Task selection

Selection is quota-based: each task publishes an applicant cap and a maximum number of paid slots. When the cap is reached (or the deadline expires), an automated algorithm allocates slots across three buckets — Elite, Loyal, and New — using inputs such as previous success rate, lifetime earnings, and streak days. Not every applicant is selected.

Where slots exceed applicants in a bucket, the algorithm may transfer surplus slots to adjacent buckets (“overflow”). Non-selected users forfeit their entry cost.

You acknowledge that selection outcomes are algorithmic and that AfriTask AI does not guarantee any user a minimum number of selections or any minimum earnings.

6. No employment relationship

Your use of the Platform does not create any employment, agency, or joint-venture relationship between you and AfriTask AI. You are not our employee, contractor, or partner. You have no rights to salary, benefits, or protections under Nigerian labour law arising from your Platform activity.

7. Withdrawals

Naira earnings become withdrawable to a Nigerian bank account you own once you meet the ₦2,000 minimum. Withdrawals are:

  • Subject to admin review for fraud checks before payout.
  • Processed via Paystack Transfers where available, or by manual bank transfer where Paystack Transfer support is disabled on our test account.
  • Refunded to your Earnings Wallet in full if rejected or if the Paystack transfer fails.

Bank account details must exactly match the account holder returned by Paystack’s name-resolution service. We reserve the right to reject withdrawals to accounts whose name does not match your Platform identity.

8. Prohibited conduct

The following are strictly forbidden and grounds for permanent ban and forfeiture:

  • Operating more than one account or coordinating with other users to game selection or referral rewards.
  • Using bots, automation, or scripts to submit task answers.
  • Submitting deliberately false, low-effort, or plagiarised responses.
  • Attempting to reverse-engineer, DDoS, or exploit vulnerabilities in the Platform.
  • Using the referral program in a fraudulent manner (same-device signups, fake identities).
  • Providing false bank account details or attempting to withdraw to accounts you do not control.

9. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your access without prior notice if we reasonably suspect abuse, fraud, or breach of these Terms. Terminated accounts may forfeit unspent Work Points and pending Naira earnings, subject to a fair-review process for cases where the account holder disputes the suspension.

10. Liability & disclaimers

The Platform is provided as is without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any specific task will be available. To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Platform is capped at the total Work Points value you purchased in the ninety (90) days preceding the claim.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may amend these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via an in-app banner or notification. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
